A “stable” pelvic diastasis typically refers to an Anteroposterior Compression (APC) II injury where the pubic symphysis has separated, but the sacroiliac joints remain intact, preventing vertical instability. While it’s often considered a “stable” injury compared to a complete disruption (APC-III), a diastasis can still cause significant pain and a feeling of instability, requiring non-operative treatment like pelvic binders, physical therapy, and pain management to improve function and prevent long-term complications.
